In addition, each channel is independently selectable between 10 and 25 watts, which gives you a multitude of on-the-fly headroom and drive options to be dialed in for your bedroom or stage needs. The drive channel has a Vintage and a Modern setting, the function of which should be fairly obvious to most. The clean channels allow you to choose between standard Clean and Pushed, which gives you that edge-of-breakup chunky tone. What sets this apart from a great many other options is that not only can you choose between the clean and drive channels, each of those channels can be configured separately using one of four different voices. You get two channels with entirely independent controls that’s both EQ and volume. Distilling the tones of its larger brethren into a mini amp head, this Mini-Rectifier is still going to be plenty loud at 25 watts. The Mesa Boogie Mini-Rectifier 25 is a fully-featured monster amp in a small package. went with the pedal baby after alot of research.whatever you buy you will have to take time to dial it in no matter what.when i got the pedadbaby im like wow it sounds like crap haha but it was my presets.i had been running the pod go into my 4x12 through an old raven 1x12 with 60 watts through the return.so was just using the poweramp sounded ok but i knew it could be better got the orange and took a month to dial it in now i love it.wouldnt go with anything else.i also looked into the powerstage 200 but didnt know if it would sound like the iridium so thats why i went with the orange.i read an article saying dont use class d for guitar its not made for it.who knows lol.anyways those are my thoughts. i think its one of the s class a/b not class d.and analog.i tried the amp one iridium and i didnt like the class d power amp in it. I use the orange pedal baby myself with a pod go into a 4x12 loaded with celestions and it sounds amazing.i researched for a month or so before buying the pedal baby. If you're not looking to use it that heavily and it's just something to use in your bedroom or small home studio or something, then that might be a bigger purchase than you're needing to make possibly. If this is something you're going to be using pretty regularly or make your main power amp source for gigging and traveling etc., I think the PowerStage is the best choice of the three. So ultimately I guess it depends on what you're looking to get out of the amp and your budget and needs. But for more frequent use and longer term reliability I think the PowerStage is actually better overall.Ī while back I upgraded from the PS-170 to the 200 watt version, which also has a Presence control and dual speaker outputs and a D.I. The Benton worked fine and is definitely good for a cheap and easy backup to throw in your case. Obviously the biggest difference between these models is the price, and while the PowerStage is the most expensive of the bunch I also felt like it was the most sturdy and reliable of them all. At first I didn't think that'd be something I really cared about or needed, but found myself sometimes requiring some minor EQ tweaking depending on the stage I was on or if I was plugging into a cabinet different than what I normally use, and it was so much easier just tweaking it on the amp itself rather than having to alter any of my presets. I think the Harley Benton and the PowerStage are particularly preferable over the Hotone due to their having the 3 band EQ feature. Out of the other two mentioned I felt like the Hotone had the better clean sound than the Benton. PowerStage doesn't sound sterile to me but is just clean and unaffected enough to run my Ax8 through it and not have it alter my tone negatively. Out of the three, the PowerStage had the cleanest sound and clearest headroom, which I found worked best for me with the modeler I was using (Fractal Ax8). The three amps you mentioned all worked pretty well in their own right and I found all of them plenty loud enough for rehearsing and gigging for the most part. Here's my take on what I've found from them. I've used all of those pedalboard amps you listed as well as some others like the Pedal Baby and Quilter stuff.
